LEJOG Day 5 Progress
Day 5 LEJOG - Thursday 17th September 2020
Dsy 5 started in Glastonbury with a hard climb but then some lovely countryside which suddenly morphed into the Bristol metropolis. In the early stages the girls were joined by Rod a friend of Alison's who was on holiday in the area.
Riding along the Severn under the Clifton Suspension Bridge was awesome but soon after came Avonmouth Docks with far too many lorries. However soon after came the crossing of the Severn which afforded excellent views.
Cycling off the bridge we passed Chepstow Race Course and soon were cycling along the banks of the beautiful Wye River.
After a stiff climb the final miles into Monmouth were glorious with a steady decline and really good road surfaces.
Time for a change of meal and we had a good Indian at the Jewel Balti. Alison described the Jalfrezi as the best she has eaten.
