LEJOG Day 15 Progress
Day 15 LEJOG - Sunday 27th September 2020
This short (48 miles) day was in some ways the best because of yet more stunning views and the single track A road going most of the way from Bonar Bridge to Tongue.
However after 5 miles Fiona's chain broke and the mass support team took an hour to repair it. The first time any of us had changed a chain for 40+ years. We did it however and on they went over bogland in the northern most part of Scotland (Sutherland) which was truly exceptional.
The riding was relatively easy and the traffic was light except for the occasional truck carting loads of timber.
The approach to Tongue was stunning and the hotel (Ben Loyal) was excellent - civilisation does come this far!! After a reasonably early finish it was tme to take stock and prepare for the final day over a lovely meal.
