LEJOG Day 10 Progress
Day 10 LEJOG - Tuesday 22nd September 2020
Cycling through the Lake District would at first appearance appear to be very hilly but our routes largely followed the lakes so initially at least it was fairly easy going. However the Lakes are busy and cycling on the roads was problematic with all the traffic.
Later on we were able to take smaller routes with virtually no vehicles but then the wind and rain started and just before Keswick it was time to get togged up in warmer wet proof gear.
Passing through Keswick was straightforward but the hills started and surprisingly were harder as we approached Carlisle. Thankfully the wind somewhat abated and the rain stopped so we had some spectacular views looking North.
The ride into Carlisle was downhill and we did a few extra miles to Westlinton where Charlie picked us up to take us to the Todhills Travelodge and a very good Chinese takeaway.
